Interests: trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, identity issues, and spirituality
Modalities: person-centered, IFS-informed
Me as a therapist: warm, compassionate, grounding, calm
My name is Lindsey, and I am currently completing a master's degree in mental health counseling through Wake Forest University and serving as an intern with Restore Balance under the supervision of Kristen Faircloth. I am also a registered nurse with 13 years of experience, having worked in hospital settings throughout my career, specifically in medical-surgical nursing, post-anesthesia care, and inpatient behavioral health.
My approach to counseling, which has been informed by my education both professionally and, maybe more importantly, the school of life, is grounded in a compassionate, holistic perspective where all parts of us are welcome. Moving from a person-centered and IFS-informed ('parts work') lens, I aim to facilitate a safe space where you feel deeply understood and accepted, which is the birthplace of healing and growth. My interests span a wide range of areas, such as trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, identity issues, and spirituality.
When I'm not writing a paper or studying for an exam, you can find me these days on my mat in an easy yoga class or spending time with my partner and our little Malitpoo, Maximus. I am also a lover of stories and one of my favorite things to do is get caught up in a good one through theater, film, a good book, or through a friend sitting across from me in a coffee shop.
