Adult Autism Evaluations

We offer comprehensive Autism evaluations for adults (18+) looking to better understand their neurotype. The clinicians at Restore Balance Therapy can help you navigate your diagnosis, offering a neurodivergent, affirming, and warm environment. When you sign up for your 120-minute evaluation, we'll use standardized behavior rating scales and additional screening tools to understand your specific diagnosis. Then, we'll share your results and provide personalized recommendations. At Restore Balance Therapy, we understand how overwhelming the diagnosis process can be, and we want to make it as comfortable as possible. We offer evaluations in person to those in the Metro Atlanta, GA area, and virtual to those in South Carolina.

We know that autism presents differently across, gender, sex, race, and ethnicity. We specialize in recognizing autistic differences in females, that might traditionally be missed.

Please note this is a self-pay service, and we do not directly bill insurance. We do offer payment plans when we can!

What is the MIGDAS-2?

The MIGDAS-2 is a comprehensive approach to diagnosing autism spectrum disorder that incorporates neurodivergent language. Developed by licensed psychologist Marilyn Monteiro, MIGDAS-2 utilizes a sensory-based interview process. We'll follow structured guidelines for gathering information on behavior in various settings. This approach helps us create a detailed behavioral profile that supplements your assessment scores, enabling us to provide an accurate diagnosis and personalized treatment plan. Complex evaluations may require more time, which will be billed at the hourly rate of $170/hour.

Our Approach

We have chosen assessments that are neurodivergent affirming. They go beyond traditional testing and assess for symptoms that might not be caught on a self-report, or symptoms that present more hidden. We are passionate about providing neurodivergent affirming evaluations. This means that we do not pathologize and we do not see symptoms as deficits. We evaluate for strengths, finding that to be an imperative part of the written report. Our evaluators are neurodivergent and understand what it is like to go through the evaluation process. We want to make it as comfortable and affirming as possible.

Please note this is not psychological or nueropsychological testing, we are looking for brain style differences consistent with Autism Spectrum. If we feel that neuropsychological or learning disability testing is needed we will refer you to the appropriate professional.

Currently, Carrie and Kristen are providing evaluations.
